'Slashed' will appear on the DVD of the band's forthcoming single...

ASH are to star in their own horror film, NME.COM can announce.

The short film, which is being made during breaks from touring in the US has the working title ‘Slashed’. According to a spokesperson for the band, it is set to feature on the DVD release of their new single ‘Envy’, released on August 26 via Infectious.

‘Envy’ is about the relationship between a girl and her vibrator, and also features on the band’s forthcoming singles compilation ‘Intergalactic Sonic Sevens’, which is released on September 9.

‘Intergalactic Cosmic Sevens’ will also be available with a second album of B-sides and rarities entitled ‘Cosmic Debris’. The tracklisting for that, currently unannounced, is being decided by the group’s fans.

Ash are currently touring in the US, and later this month will perform on the Area:2 travelling festival. The band return to the UK for the Carling Weekend Festivals in August, and then return to America for more dates until the end of the year.
