AT THE DRIVE-IN side project DEFACTO have started work on an album, produced by BEASTIE BOYS collaborator MARIO CALDATO JR.
Defacto consists of Drive-In vocalist Cedric Bixler and guitarist Omar Rodriguez, alongside new members Ikey Owens and Jeremy Ward.
They have been working with Beastie Boys producer Mario Caldato Jr on new material, according to MTV news. It is possible the fruits of their work will appear as an album before the end of the year.
According to the report, Defacto will visit Europe later this year for live dates, although At The Drive-In are currently on tour, which does not end until the end of February.
An official spokesperson for the band in the UK told NME.COM that there are plans for a single release. However, rumours it is to be called ‘456 132 015’, and other live plans could not be confirmed.
As previously revealed on NME.COM, At The Drive-In are confirmed to play an NME Carling Premier show at the London Astoria on February 2.
They will then tour Europe, before returning to the UK later in the month for dates at Cardiff University (26) and Nottingham Rock City (27).
