Atari Teenage Riot, who played London last week at the Astoria without DJ Carl Crack who is fighting off attempts to have him incarcerated in a mental hospital, have been added to the European dates with Nine Inch Nails, including the show at London Brixton Academy on November 29 and December 1.
In a recent nme.com webchat, Alec Empire talked about how they were considering the gigs with NIN: “He (Trent Reznor) asked us – that would mean we have to cancel some shows – perhaps we do it…would be cool – he has the Alec Empire haircut now.”
Meanwhile, ATR singer Hanin Elias has just released a new EP on DHR called ‘In Flames’, a track that’s slightly more approachable and radio friendly than ATR.
Hanin has her own label called Fatal which has already put out an album by ATR bandmate Nic Endo called ‘White Heat’ that is attempting to “redress the balance in the boy’s own music industry…girl power? Forget that shite on MTV. This is the real thing.”
