Atari Teenage Riot have announced a short UK and Irish tour. They will play: Belfast Morrisons (October 15) Dublin Temple Bar (16) Bristol Fleece & Firkin (18) Nottingham The Rig (19) Manchester Planet K (21) Glasgow King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut (22) Cambridge The Junction (24) London WC2 LA2 (25)
The band are also planning to release a new single around the time of the tour.
Meanwhile, MTV have banned ATR’s new video, ‘Revolution Action’ which features members of the band kidnapping a businessman and ripping his face off.
A spokesman for the band’s label, Digital Hardcore Recordings said: “Atari’s intentions were to make a video that encapsulated their political beliefs but presented them in an entertaining rather than didactic way. MTV‘s attitude is not one of censorship as there’s nothing to censor. Instead, it smacks of over-sensitivity.”
