The band play a 13-song set at Liverpool's L2 venue...

ATOMIC KITTEN played their first full live gig in their native LIVERPOOL last night (April 25).

Natasha Hamilton, Liz McLarnon and Jenny Frost performed a 13-song set to a packed house at the L2 venue, with local celebrities from teen-soap ‘Hollyoaks’ among the audience.

The gig, which was a fund-raiser for the local Save The Samaritans campaign, was beset by technical hitches early on, with the PA system going down and poor sound quality, which left the girls singing out of tune at times.

After the sound was restored, joined by a live band, the outfit performed

favourites including debut single ‘Right Now’ and ‘I Want Your Love’.The girls also introduced songs from their forthcoming album, set for an August release, including ‘You Are’, which was in the same style as their Number One single ‘Whole Again’, and ‘Bye Now’. Bangles hit ‘Eternal Flame’ was well received, as was the closing number, a cover of the classic ‘Dancing In The Street’.

Organisers have yet to tally up how much was raised.

The performance was originally set for broadcast live via the girls’ website at

www.atomickitten.com, but had to be cancelled due to technical problems.

According to a posting on their site, the concert should be available online tomorrow (April 27).
