After one day's sales, the band are just holding off OutKast and Samantha Mumba...

ATOMIC KITTEN are heading towards a fourth week at Number One, battling OUTKAST and SAMANTHA MUMBA in what is turning into one of the closest chart battles of the year so far.

Atomic Kitten have been at Number One for three weeks with their single ‘Whole Again’. If chart predictions based on sales yesterday (February 19) are representative of the rest of the week, the single will remain at the top for yet another week.

However, new releases from OutKast and Samantha Mumba have sold almost as many, and are fighting hard for the Number One spot.

OutKast’s ‘Ms Jackson’ is currently at Number Two, having sold 19,186 copies, while Samantha Mumba is at Number Three with ‘Always Come Back’, which has sold 17,132. ‘Whole Again’ has sold 20,726.

A chart expert at HMV in London said that it is too close to predict which single of those three will end up at Number One, although it was “probable” ‘Ms Jackson’ would sell increasingly well as the week progressed.

Of the other new releases this week, Melanie B’s ‘Feels So Good’ is at Number Five and A1’s ‘No More’ is at Number Six.
