Metal ‘supergroup’ AxeWound announce October UK tour – ticket details

The Bullet For My Valentine and Cancer Bats supergroup have announced six shows

AxeWound, the supergroup featuring Bullet For My Valentine frontman Matt Tuck and Cancer Bats singer Liam Cormier, have announced a full UK tour for October.

The group, which also features former Rise To Remain bassist Joe Copcutt, Pitchshifter drummer Jason Bowld and Glamour Of The Kill’s Mike Kingswood in its line-up, will play six shows in October.

The spate of gigs kicks off on October 1 at Nottingham Rescue Rooms and ends at Bristol Thekla on October 7. The run also includes dates in Glasgow, Manchester, Wolverhampton and London.

Tuck has previously said that AxeWound would be “metal as fuck” and compared their music to Slipknot and Pantera.

Speaking previously about the band, Tuck said: “It’s far more like Slipknot or Pantera. It’s metal as fuck, it’s stepping away from the melodic, not giving a fuck. Because obviously Bullet For My Valentine is a business and we have our formula, and what we do works so we won’t stray from that.”

He continued: “It’s nice to step out of that comfort zone and do something fucking ridiculous and not worry about what people are going to think, because it doesn’t exist yet. We wanted to go in there with kind of like a Slipknot attitude of just everything. Like the ‘Iowa’ album — just fucking violent. Let it all out. No holds barred.”

The band are touring in support of their debut album ‘Vultures’, which is due out later this year. They have previously posted their first track ‘Post Apocalyptic Party’ online and are giving it away as a free download from their official website, You can also hear the track by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking.

AxeWound will play:

Nottingham Rescue Rooms (October 1)
Glasgow King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut (2)
Manchester Academy 3 (3)
Wolverhampton Slade Rooms (4)
London Underworld (6)
Bristol Thekla (7)
