Rapper was filmed during an argument on an airplane flight earlier this week
Azealia Banks has addressed an incident earlier this week in which she appeared to use a homophobic slur when confronting an airplane flight attendant.
Banks was flying from New York to Los Angeles on Monday (September 21) when she was filmed arguing with a fellow passenger and a flight attendant.
Having been embroiled in a verbal and physical confrontation with a passenger, Banks proceeded to call a member of staff a “fucking faggot”, according to a report from TMZ.
After the incident was caught on camera, Banks later defended herself on Twitter, writing, “I don’t care. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I don’t tolerate bitchassness and I don’t tolerate men putting their hands on me.”
The rapper had made her Twitter account private at that point but has since made it public once again and began defending herself following the airline incident.
“I only OWE an apology to my fans. My true true ride or die fans. The rest of yall can pick up a rock and suck on it !!” she added on the social network.
Banks continued, “There will be something new for you all be outraged about tomorrow. We live in the time of the 24hr news cycle.”
