There's never been a video better than the 'Thriller'-updating 'Everybody (Backstreet's Back)' apparently...

The Backstreet Boys‘ ’90s update of Michael Jackson‘s ‘Thriller’ video – for ‘Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)’ – has been voted the best video ‘of all time’ by pop fans around the world.

Users of [url=]thebox.co.uk and readers of UK pop magazine Smash Hits were polled on the greatest videos ever made, and over 10,000 responded, ignoring traditionally respected videos like Queen‘s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ canonised by their parents. The Top 10 reads:

1. Backstreet Boys – ‘Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)’

2. Britney Spears – ‘… Baby One More Time’

3. Robbie Williams – ‘Rock DJ’

4. *NSync – ‘Bye Bye Bye’

5. Eminem – ‘The Real Slim Shady’

6. Sisqo – ‘Thong Song’

7. Westlife – ‘Flying Without Wings’

8. Spice Girls – ‘Wannabe’

9. Backstreet Boys – ‘I Want It That Way’

10. Blink 182 – ‘All The Small Things’

The Top 10 includes mummies, schoolgirls, flayed torsos ripping out their own hearts, car chases and booty-shaking. As Smash Hits editor John McKie observes: “Dressing up rocks.”

Speaking of this honour, Howie Backstreet adds: “‘Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)’ is my favourite. It was a fun video to make because it was the first one we really had a lot of input on. It was totally our idea, like a ’90s version of Michael Jackson‘s ‘Thriller’.”
