Not content with straddling the globe with his fellow BACKSTREET BOYS in 2000, AJ has announced details of his gig tonight (December 30) as alter-ego JOHNNY NO NAME.
And according to reports on www.sonicnet.com, he plans to cover rock renegades Rage Against The Machine and Stone Temple Pilots among others at the Hard Rock Cafe in Orlando. His concept side-project, which AJ will be indulging during a lull in the band’s rehearsals for their forthcoming US stadium tour, is based around a fictional persona of an English convict serving a prison sentence in Nashville.
AJ said: “I’m definitely looking forward to doing it again. I’ve been working on some original material, since most of the show is based around cover tunes, and kind of making fun of other bands as well as making fun of us, which I guess I have the right to do. I don’t know when, but you will definitely see Johnny No Name reborn again.”
He also hinted that there could be European dates in store for Johnny. The gig tipped to take place tonight is in aid of the Orlando Sentinel Santa children’s charity fund.
