The star plays a shock show in Manchester...
BADLY DRAWN BOY stunned a hometown crowd last night (March 9) with an exclusive low-key show.
The artist, AKA Damon Gough, played a two-hour solo slot as a thank-you to fans who had supported him from the beginning at Manchester’s Comedy Store.
During the performance, Gough dedicated ‘Above You, Below Me’, from soundtrack album “About A Boy’ to Joe Strummer, and told of his distress following the [a][/a] star’s death on December 22 last year.
The two had become friends in recent years, and Gough told the audience, “He was a supporter of what I do, and I was astonished when I found that out.”
Elsewhere he induced laughter before the title track of his last album ‘Have You Fed The Fish?’ itself by asking girlfriend Claire is she had fed the fish in their Chorlton home, because he had forgotten to that morning.
At the end of the show, Gough described it as “the best night of my life.”
