The south London dance heroes enter the studio with the acclaimed US house producer...

BASEMENT JAXX have collaborated with US house DJ JUNIOR SANCHEZ, NME.COM can reveal.

Talking exclusively to Muzik’s weekly e-mail news service, the DJ revealed that he went into the studio with the Brixton based duo following their appearance at New York’s Centro Fly for the Subliminal label’s Thanksgiving celebrations

“I’m singing on two tracks,” revealed Sanchez. “One has a heavy metal, DMX-meets-Pantera vocal, the other features Michael Moog. I’m doing backing vocals in Portuguese on that one!”

Sanchez expects both tracks to appear on the new Basement Jaxx album due summer 2001. As previously reported on NME.COM, Basement Jaxx have already collaborated with the singer Kele Le Roc on a track entitled ‘Romeo’, though it’s not yet known whether this track will end up on the eventual album.

Junior, Armand Van Helden and DJ Sneak headline the Together As One event in Los Angeles on New Years Eve. The gig, which is expected to pull around 60,000 punters, takes place at LA Sports Coliseum and Sports Arena. “It’s gonna be ill,” commented Sanchez.
