Bat For Lashes covers Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Rhiannon’ at one-off London show – watch

Singer also tells the crowd, 'Hopefully I'll be back with another record soon'

Bat For Lashes played a cover of ‘Rhiannon’ by Fleetwood Mac last night (August 13) for a one-off show in London.

The singer, who was wrapping up her UK touring of recent album ‘The Haunted Man’ at Shepherds Bush Empire, performed the 1975 track on piano for the first time.

Addressing the crowd towards the end of her set, she said: “This is a one-off cover we have never played before. It’s a song by one of my favourite ladies so I’m going to try and do it some justice.” You can watch footage of her cover above.

Earlier, she performed nine tracks from her recent album including singles ‘All Your Gold’ and ‘Laura’ along with ‘Oh Yeah’ and ‘Marilyn’. Before the latter she said: “I just want to give a shout out to my family who are virtually taking up the whole balcony above. Give them a wave.”

Natasha Khan, who was backed by a four-piece male band, also laced her set with tracks from her 2006 debut ‘Fur And Gold’ and 2009 follow up ‘Two Suns’ including ‘Glass’, ‘What’s A Girl To Do’ and ‘Siren Song’.

Confirming that tonight’s show was the end of her campaign of ‘The Haunted Man’ in the UK, she told the crowd before finishing with ‘Daniel’: “It has been good fun touring this album and hopefully I’ll be back with another record soon. Thanks for coming to the last London show for this album.”
