Natasha Khan has shared a new song from her upcoming Bat For Lashes album.
‘Joe’s Dream’ is the fourth song to be released from ‘The Bride’, the first new album to come from Khan’s Bat for Lashes alias since 2012’s ‘The Haunted Man’.
‘The Bride’ is a concept album which, according to its press release, tells the story of a woman whose fiancé has been killed in a crash on the way to their wedding. The bride then decides to take their honeymoon trip alone, leading to songs of “love, loss, grief and celebration”.
Last month, Khan released a video for album track ‘Sunday Love’ which she directed together with John DeMenil. The video sees Khan’s bride character order a driver to stop on a Californian highway.
In October, Khan released a self-titled album as Sexwitch with Toy and Franz Ferdinand/Kylie Minogue producer Dan Carey. Carey has also contributed production to Khan’s new album, alongside Simon Felice of The Felice Brothers and singer-songwriter Ben Christophers.
A brief Bat For Lashes tour of churches in London, Brighton and Manchester earlier in May saw many in the audience dress in formal wedding attire at Khan’s request. She is due play at Glastonbury later this month and End Of The Road in September.
