They gear up for Coachella performance this weekend
Goth legends Love And Rockets made their live return last night (April 22) at the Glass House in Pomona, California.
All three original members – Daniel Ash, David J, and Kevin Haskins– wowed a packed house from the very first chord of their opening song ‘Ball of Confusion’.
The band, who were also members of Bauhaus, ran through a 13-song set spanning nearly two hours.
A highlight of the evening was a rousing cover of The Clash’s ‘Should I Stay Or Should I Go’, which lead singer Ash said was only fitting because it was a Joe Strummer tribute that brought them back together in December for the first time in nine years.
Although troubled by sound problems throughout the evening, the band remained unfazed and in high spirits, with bassist David J joking with security to move a bit so that the band could read their lyrics.
The band sounded extremely tight, showcasing their ability to improve upon the sounds they created decades ago.
Love And Rockets are set to perform at the Coachella Festival on Sunday (April 27).
