Frontman has gone down with acute pharyngitis
Beady Eye have cancelled their gig in Vienna tonight (October 13) after frontman Liam Gallagher was diagnosed with a throat infection.
The singer has been diagnosed with a condition called acute pharyngitis, which is an infection of the upper respiratory tract and causes swelling at the back of the throat. It can make breathing and swallowing extremely painful, making singing and talking a less than pleasant experience.
Beady Eye are currently at the tail end of a European tour with three shows still to go. The band have not said if tomorrow (October 14) night’s show in Berlin is in doubt.
The gig is the second the band have had to pull this week, after they shelved a gig in Zurich on Tuesday (October 11) due to Gallagher’s throat problems.
After they complete their European run, the band will next tour South America, before returning to the UK in November for a five-date headline trek. They have indicated they will then begin work on their second album.
