Liam Gallagher: ‘I am a Belieber!’

The Beady Eye frontman says he's a fan of Justin Bieber's rock'n'roll antics

Liam Gallagher has revealed that he’s fan of Justin Bieber.

“I’ve got his fucking back, man,” said the Beady Eye frontman. “Anyone who goes on two hours late is fucking right in my book, man,” he said of the teenage pop singer’s recent antics at London’s O2 Arena.

He continued: “All these so-called rock bands that sit backstage going, ‘Hey, let’s wait 15 minutes’. Fuck that, wait two hours and 15 minutes! No one will beat that, ever. So get off his back, man — I am a Belieber!”

Liam Gallagher made the comments in an interview with Shortlist, during which he also admitted that a new Beady Eye song is about Noel Gallagher.

The song, titled ‘Don’t Brother Me’, will feature on the new album ‘BE’, details of which were confirmed yesterday (April 10).

Discussing the track Gallagher said: “There’s a lot of love in there but there’s also a couple of – humorous, I think – digs. There’s nothing malicious in there, ‘cos it’s not in my nature. I wish I could write a malicious one – you’d fucking know about it if I could – but I couldn’t.”

Beady Eye release ‘BE’ on June 10, with Liam Gallagher saying that the Dave Sitek (TV On The Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs) produced album has “none of that crap from the ’90s” on it.

Over the weekend the first track from the album, titled ‘Flick Of The Finger’, premiered. Recorded in London, ‘BE’ sees the band experiment with cassette tapes, samplers, and iPhone apps.

“Working with Sitek just opened something up in us,” Liam Gallagher said in a statement. “He’s without a doubt the best producer I’ve ever worked with, a real outlaw – he doesn’t give a fuck, no rules. We had a new found focus when we were writing it – we really got our heads down and got our shit together – clear heads, none of that crap from the ’90s. It feels like a really special record for us.”
