The RHYME AND REASON TOUR, featuring the Beastie Boys, has been postponed until further notice because rapper MIKE D requires surgery to his shoulder.
The Beastie Boys were originally scheduled to play a comprehensive tour across the US with Rage Against The Machine, Busta Rhymes and Green Day. However, Mike D was involved in a cycling accident in New York last weekend and dislocated his shoulder, which requires surgery.
A statement posted on the official Beastie Boys website, [url=]www.beastieboys.com, reads: “Mike D was bicycling through NYC over the weekend, had a run-in with a pothole, and ended up dislocating his shoulder. After many trips to many doctors, it’s been decided that Mike will need minor surgery to repair the damaged bits. Mike‘s going to be OK, but after the third opinion came back that 45 days of touring could cause permanent damage to his shoulder, everyone agreed the tour would have to be postponed.”
The statement goes on to apologise to fans, saying the band are “disappointed”. However, all dates are expected to be rescheduled for later in the year, when the rapper has fully recovered.
