STEREOHPONICS, Primal Scream, Foo Fighters, PULP, GOMEZ, PLACEBO and BECK will join OASIS on the main stages of the the Reading/Leeds Carling Weekend Festival, held from August 25-27 at Temple Newsam, Leeds and August 26-28 at Richfield Avenue, Reading.
Pulp, Beck and Gomez will co-headline Reading (26) and Leeds (27), while Stereophonics and Placebo headline Leeds (26) and Reading (27).
Primal Scream have been announced as Oasis’ special guests so will play Reading (25) and Leeds (28) before the Gallaghers take to the stage. They will be preceded by Foo Fighters.
As previously reported, Oasis and Primal Scream also play a new two-day sister festival at Glasgow Green which is set to take place August 26 and 27, as revealed last week by nme.com. Further details of this event have yet to be announced.
This year’s Reading/Leeds Carling Weekend festivals will also feature the Radio One Evening Session Stage, a dance stage, the Carling Premier Stage and the UK Play Comedy Tent.
It’s also rumoured Rage Against The Machine, Slipknot, Offspring and Cypress Hill will be playing.
Tickets go on sale from March 4 and cost #80 for three days including camping and carparking or #33 each for one day and no camping.
Meanwhile, the Godfather Of Soul James Brown has been confirmed to play this year’s Guildford Festival (July 28-30) on Saturday, July 29. Held at Stoke Park in Guildford city centre, the 10,000 capacity festival also boasts Rolf Harris on its bill and is set to announce more acts in the coming weeks.
Speculation still mounts over the bills to this year’s Glastonbury (June 23-25) and V2000 (August 19-20) festivals, with Elastica tipped to play both.
Travis will headline Glastonbury on Saturday night, David Bowie is up to headline Glastonbury on Sunday night while Chemical Brothers are tipped to play Friday. Other acts in the frame include Nine Inch Nails, Sir Paul McCartney and Embrace.
Robbie Williams is being touted as a headline act for V2000, which takes place at twin sites in Chelmsford and Staffordshire, and it’s also likely Macy Gray and Moby will play.
Meanwhile, Travis are also being tipped to play T In The Park, from July 8-9 at Balado, Kinross. Insiders say The Beta Band will soon be confirmed on the bill.
