Beck is to feature on two tracks on the forthcoming album by French dance duo AIR.

Speaking via the official Beck website, he revealed he has “worked on two tracks” on the forthcoming Air album, the follow-up to their critically acclaimed ‘Moon Safari’ record from 1998.

Beck has worked with Air before, remixing their single ‘Sexy Boy’.

Air, aka Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoit Dunckel, have been working on their new album since December last year. Previously speaking about the forthcoming record, session drummer Brian Reitzell, who is recording with the pair, described the new material as a “work of art”. He said: “Every song on the album is a contained work of art… It’s very different to ‘Moon Safari’, and nothing like the soundtrack album (‘The Virgin Suicides’). Every song is a song, there’s no art damage.”

The album is not expected before February 2001, although a possible single may precede it in January.

In other Beck news, he has recorded a voiceover for an appearance on the US television show ‘Futurama’, the cartoon by ‘Simpsons’ creator Matt Groening.
