MIRWAIS GETS RYTHMES!

Jacques Lu Cont remixes the latest Mirwais single...

Les Rythmes Digitales are set to deliver a mix of the new single from French electronica producer Mirwais.

The track, ‘Naive Song’, is taken from Mirwais‘ debut solo-album ‘Production’, which was released in May. This is the first Les Rythmes Digitales mix to appear in some time, as mainman Jacques Lu Cont has been busy finishing off his ’70s-style AOR album as Zoot Woman. Hotly tipped Dutch producer Olav Basoski is set to deliver the other mixes.

‘Naive Song’ will the second to be taken from Mirwais‘ debut longplayer ‘Production’. His first single ‘Disco Science’ caused controversy for its erotically-charged promotional video, and was banned from MTV. This time around, the enigmatic Frenchman has enlisted the services of controversial photographer and video director Jean Baptiste Mondino, who has previously directed videos for Prince, David Bowie and Madonna, including her famous ‘Justify My Love’ promo.

Mirwais has produced several tracks on the forthcoming Madonna album, ‘Music’, which goes on release through Maverick on September 18. ‘Naive Song’ is released on October 23.Les Rythmes Digitales play the Carling Weekend Festival at Reading/Leeds this weekend (August 25 – 28).
