The unlikely duo team up to work on material for '60s legend Faithfull's new LP...
BECK has collaborated with ’60s star MARIANNE FAITHFULL on material for her forthcoming album.
A UK spokesperson for the star told NME.COM this afternoon (February 21) that Beck took time out from working on the follow-up to ‘Midnite Vultures’ to write material with Faithfull. It is thought he has already recorded two tracks with her. Beck is said to provide vocals on the songs.
Faithfull has previously collaborated with other groups in the recent past including Metallica, providing vocals on the 1997 single ‘The Memory Remains’.
In other Beck news, he plans to enter the studio again soon with Timbaland to continue work on his forthcoming album. A spokesperson for Beck said he hopes to release the as-yet-untitled record later in the year.
He said: “He’s got absolutely loads of songs recorded already, but we’ll have to see what happens.”
Beck currently has no plans to return to the UK for live shows.
