Beck is to head into the studio in September to begin work on his new album with renowned producer Timbaland
According to reports on [url=]www.mtv.com, the pair will decamp to an LA studio during the first week of September to work through ideas both for Beck‘s follow-up to ‘Midnite Vultures’ and for Timbaland‘s own new album.
They met during the recording of a US TV show several months ago and have been talking about collaborating since.
Timbaland is reported to have said: “We were talking about doing a song for each other, and we made it happen. That’s basically how that happened. Most people talk about it, but then they don’t pursue it. This one we tried to pursue.”
Timbaland has most recently worked on Aaliyah’s ‘Try Again’ and Jay-Z’s ‘Big Pimpin’.
Sessions will begin following Beck‘s appearance at the Reading and Leeds Carling Weekender on August 26 and 27.
Last Sunday (August 6) Beck performed on the main stage of the Witnness Festival in Ireland watched by friends Michael Stipe of R.E.M. and actress Winona Ryder.
