Beck shares surreal Western-inspired music video for ‘Wow’

The clip features Beck’s children Cosimo and Tuesday Hansen

Beck has released a music video for his new single ‘Wow’.

A collaboration between Beck and music video director Grady Hall, the video is a mixture of Western-style film scenes and surreal segments by a number of artists. Among those who contributed are Sam Cannon, Randy Cano, Andy Gregg, David McLeod, John McLaughlin, Jess Rona, and Steve Smith.

Beck’s children, Cosimo and Tuesday Hansen, also appear in the video.

‘Wow’ follows last year’s single ‘Dreams’, both of which will be included on Beck’s follow-up to 2014’s ‘Morning Phase’. The as-yet-untitled album will be released on October 21 via Capital Records.

In an interview with NME, Beck revealed that at one point he attempted to get Chance the Rapper to feature on ‘Wow’.

“I like the new Chance The Rapper record a lot,” Beck said. “Four or five months ago we tried to get Chance on ‘Wow.’ I’m not sure what happened with that.”

Speaking of the album, Beck said: “This record has felt like a lot of freedom, as I’ve had time to work things out and try things. I’ll go too far in one direction, then go too far in another. There were a few other ideas that have come out of making this record that are interesting and have pushed me in other directions.”
