Beck announces UK shows around Glastonbury appearance

Singer-songwriter will play live dates in London and Manchester

Beck has announced new UK live dates to take place surrounding his Glastonbury Festival appearance this summer.

It had previously been confirmed that Beck will perform at this year’s Glastonbury, which runs at its traditional home of Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset from 22-26 June.

Following his Glastonbury set, Beck will play London’s O2 Brixton Academy on June 28 and Manchester’s Albert Hall on June 29. See those dates in full beneath.

Beck will also play Nile Rodgers’ FOLD Festival in London, which runs from June 24-26.

Last August, Beck shared a photo of himself in the studio, hinting at progress on a follow-up to Grammy-winning album ‘Morning Phase’.

Beck has described the upcoming LP as a “hybrid” of garage rock and dance different to ‘Morning Phase’. He also called the album the “opposite” of his sedate 2014 release ‘Morning Phase’ and described it as “a pretty diverse group of songs that fit together.”

Work on the record has been underway for a couple of years. “It started out as a heavy garage rock thing and became much more of a dance — some kind of hybrid,” he said of the sound of the album.

The multi-instrumental songwriter also released latest single ‘Dreams’ last June.
