Belle & Sebastian, are to auction a rare and collectible copy of their first album ‘Tigermilk’ over the Internet to raise funds for a Glasgow Hospital.
The online auction will be hosted on the indie classicists’ label Jeepster’s website, with the final bid to be taken at 5pm on Saturday, August 8. The updated total of where the bidding stands can be also accessed on the Jeepster site; as this story was posted the bidding had already passed the ‘400 mark.
The actual disc on offer is one of only 1,000 vinyl copies recorded as part of a music course at Stow College in Glasgow. This individual copy has been autographed by all the members of the band.
Meanwhile, as previously reported on NME.com, Belle And Sebastian’s upcoming third album ‘The Boy With The Arab Strap’ featuring 12 new songs will be released by Jeepster on September 7.
The band will be playing three live dates to support the release at Leeds Variety Theatre (September 4), Nottingham Marcus Garvey Centre (5) and London Shepherds Bush Empire (7). Tickets are ‘10.00 in London and ‘9.00 elsewhere.
