‘BEST SCOT BAND’ REVEALED

They beat off competition from Franz, Travis and Primal Scream...

[url=]BELLE AND SEBASTIAN have been voted the best Scottish band of all time in a public poll.

They beat off the likes of Snow Patrol[/a], who finished second and third, and the likes of Teenage Fanclub who came 15th and Eurythmics who wound up at a lowly 38. The results were revealed at a party in Glasgow last night (January 12).

Scottish magazine The List compiled a list of the best 50 bands which the public voted for over a three month period. Over 12,000 votes poured in for the poll.

Various artists performed at the King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on the night including [a]Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody and Nathan Connolly, who covered an early [url=]Belle And Sebastian song – ‘The State That I Am In’ – after they performed a special rendition of their Top Five hit ‘Run’.
