Frontman Stuart Murdochsays the indie popsters have the "freedom to explore"...

BELLE & SEBASTIAN are forging plans to record the follow up to their studio album ‘FOLD YOUR HANDS CHILD YOU WALK LIKE A PEASANT’.

Frontman Stuart Murdoch told NME.COM the group are planning to take a less

structured approach than in years past on the writing of the as yet untitled

“We’re trying to keep it a bit looser because in the past we’ve gone in with

very rigid plans and arrangements and all this kind of stuff and we’d like to

make it a little bit more spontaneous”, he said.

Murdoch says one of the new tracks is called ‘The Six Guns of Henry the Arse’,” but declined to reveal any more about the material.

“We’ve got some ideas, but I wouldn’t want to doom them to failure, it’s

certainly going to be a lot more interesting for us. I think the group, we know

how to go about things now so it gives us the freedom to explore.”

Belle And Sebastian are currently on a ten-date North American tour in support of upcoming album ‘Storytelling’, the soundtrack to the Todd Solondz film of the same name.

The group play Glastonbury on June 30.
