The Glaswegian collective join the likes of Orbital and Super Furry Animals...
BELLE AND SEBASTIAN will appear at this year’s GLASTONBURY festival.
They will play on the second stage on June 30.
It will be the first time Belle And Sebastian have played a UK festival since they curated the inaugural Bowlie festival, now trading under the All Tomorrow Parties banner, at Camber Sands in 1999.
Singer Stuart Murdoch said recently that he’d never been to Glastonbury before, although he’d been to T in the Park “which is terrible”. Murdoch is sceptical about his band’s suitability for Glastonbury. “I don’t think we fit in at all. We’ve got our heads in the clouds. Me and Stevie (Jackson, guitarist) are living halfway between the 60s and 70s.”
Meanwhile, Belle And Sebastian release their new album, ‘Storytelling’, on June 3.
