Catch them on Radio 1 tonight (Thursday July 25)...

Belle & Sebastian have written six new songs for a live set to be broadcast on the JOHN PEEL show on RADIO 1 tonight (Thursday July 25).

By playing a live set from the radio presenter’s home, dubbed ‘Peel Acres’, the band are following in the footsteps of acts such as Blur, White Stripes, and Super Furry Animals.

Belle & Sebastian, who have just signed a four-album worldwide deal with Rough Trade, will air their first new material since the recently released ‘Storytelling’ album. Singer Stuart Murdoch recently said of his band’s new deal: “It’s the perfect situation for us… it’s time to try something new. So we’re getting to work straight away to write a new record.”

Belle & Sebastian have just returned from their biggest ever international tour. They will be going overseas again in August when they will be playing the Sudoeste Festival, Portugal (1), the Benicassim Festival, Spain (3), and the Haldern Festival, Germany (10).

John Peel broadcasts from 10pm to midnight BST on 97-99 FM.
