The band do their bit for the Red Cross...

BELLE AND SEBASTIAN are playing a charity gig in aid of the RED CROSS at GLASGOW’s QMU on December 20, NME.COM can reveal.

The announcement comes two days after Gorillaz revealed that they were set to play two gigs for the Red Cross with a host of star DJs at the Bristol Academy and London’s Fabric on December 15 and 17 respectively.

A spokesman for Belle And Sebastian said the Red Cross hadn’t been informed of their benefit gig.

He said: “We haven’t told them – but I’m sure they won’t complain!”

The spokesman also revealed that Belle And Sebastian, who recently returned from a tour of Japan, would be playing a “mixture of their own stuff and covers, very possibly with a seasonal twist”.

Meanwhile, Belle And Sebastian appear on Later… With Jools Holland on Friday 30 November, where they’ll be playing their new single, ‘I’m Waking Up To Us’, and one other song yet to be decided.

Tickets for the 900-capacity QMU concert cost £10 and are available from Way Ahead, 0141 339 8383.
