The Streets’ Mike Skinner recording with Benjamin Francis Leftwich

Leftwich has also announced a mammoth UK and Ireland tour for October

The Streets‘ Mike Skinner has revealed that he has recorded new material with UK singer-songwriter Benjamin Francis Leftwich.

Skinner, who has kept a low profile since he wrapped up an extensive farewell tour with The Streets, wrote on his blog “Chilled day in the studio with Benjamin Francis Leftwich. An impressive blue sky approach to guitar tunings.”

The Streets man had previously revealed that he had formed a new musical project with former The Music frontman Robert Harvey. The duo, who are known as The Dot, have already posted up a series of tracks on their official website

Benjamin Francis Leftwich has also announced a gargantuan UK and Ireland tour for later this year.

The York singer-songwriter, who released his debut album ‘Last Smoke Before The Snowstorm’ last summer, will play a whopping 29 dates on the trek.

These begin at Brighton’s Concorde 2 on October 1 and run right throughout the month until the singer headlines Belfast’s Limelight venue on November 3.
