Concert at Barbican will mark 30th anniversary of release of Nick Drake's debut album...

Bernard Butler, Nigel Kennedy and Ben & Jason are the first artists confirmed for a Nick Drake tribute concert at the London Barbican Centre on September 25. More names are to be confirmed.

It is part of a three day festival called English Originals, subtitled a Celebration of the English Roots Tradition . It marks the 60th anniversary of folk label Topic and also features Martin Carthy, Norma Waterson, June Tabor, Billy Bragg, Eliza Carthy, Bert Jansch and Eddi Reader and runs between September 24 and 26.

The Nick Drake concert marks the 30th anniversary of the release of his debut album ‘Five Leaves Left’ and the continuing influence of his music on a wide variety of contemporary artists such as Belle & Sebastian.
