Bernard Butler is working with female singer-songwriter Heather Nova on her new album.

According to the guitarist’s official website [url=], Butler is currently writing and recording with the Bermudan songstress in a studio in London, and the pair have completed three songs. Butler is quoted on the site as saying he is “very happy” with the results of the sessions so far.

Bernard Butler remains without a record deal following the demise of Creation Records earlier in the year. Since then he has remained out of the public eye, but has worked as a session musician, notably playing guitar on four tracks on the new album by folk legend Bert Jansch, ‘Crimson Moon’, which was released on June 26. Also featured on the album is ex-Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr.
