Best Coast to release new mini-album ‘Fade Away’ in October

Seven song release will come out before band hit studio to record third album

Best Coast have announced details of ‘Fade Away’, a new seven track mini album due for release in October.

The album will act as the first release on Best Coast frontwoman Bethany Cosentino’s own Jewel City label, and acts as a primer for the band’s third album. Best Coast are due to start recording the follow up to 2012 album ‘The Only Place’ in November ahead of a Spring 2014 release.

Speaking about the songs on ‘Fade Away’, which will be released on October 21, Cosentino says: “Everything in this band has worked out so organically that sometimes it scares me that something bad is going to happen. I don’t even understand why this is happening. I made some songs, I put them up on the internet, and here I am now. I feel like the luckiest person in the world. If I wasn’t doing this, I don’t know what I would be doing.”

Tweeting about her Dad at the time, Cosentino wrote: “My Dad, Ricky Cosentino played drums on the record store day 7″ !!! Was so fun to have him on these songs.”

Best Coast released their second album, ‘The Only Place’, last year. It followed 2010’s ‘Crazy For You’.

The ‘Fade Away’ tracklist is as follows:

‘This Lonely Morning’
‘I Wanna Know’
‘Who Have I Become
’
‘Fear Of My Identity’
‘Fade Away’
‘Baby I’m Crying’
‘I Don’t Know How’
