Evangelist Christian leader Harold Camping has predicted that Jesus Christ will return to earth at 6pm (BST) today, when true believers will swept up or “raptured” to heaven.

Camping, the leader of Family Radio Worldwide, believes “beyond a shadow of a doubt” that the world will end later this afternoon, reports Sky News.

The 89-year-old claims to have gained “absolute proof” of the time and date of the end of the world thanks to the Bible.

Should Campling‘s prediction prove incorrect, Best Coast will return to the UK to play at this year’s Reading And Leeds Festivals, which take place on August 26-28.
