‘HOT’ TO TROT!

The group debut tracks from eagerly awaited new LP 'Hot Shots II'...

THE BETA BAND debuted tracks from forthcoming new album ‘HOT SHOTS II’ at a show in BELFAST last night (June 12).

The four-piece choose the Northern Irish capital to play their first live show since their Other Stage performance at Glastonbury almost a year ago.

Before kicking off a set that was built mostly around the new tracks, frontman Steve Mason told the crowd in the sold-out Limelight club that “You’re the first people in the whole fucking world to hear these songs. So you’re getting charged more on the way out.”

Aside from new material like ‘Al Sharp’, ‘Human Being’, ‘Life’ and ‘Squares’ the band focuses on material that predates their first album proper. Crowd favourites ‘Inner Meet Me’ and ‘Dry The Rain’ were aired.

The Beta Band continue the tour playing Dublin’s Red Box tonight and Cork Savoy Theatre tomorrow (June 14). They then take off to the US where they will support Radiohead from June 18 – 30, before playing more UK shows from July 20.

‘Hot Shots II’ is released on July 16.
