Monica Lewinsky corrects Beyoncé on Bill Clinton-referencing ‘Partition’ lyric

Lewinsky responds to Beyoncé's lyrics about their affair

Monica Lewinsky has corrected Beyonce about the lyrics on her track ‘Partition’ which reference her affair with former US President Bill Clinton.

Lewinsky broke a decade-long media silence to discuss her well-publicised affair with Clinton in the new issue of Vanity Fair.

She also responded to the lyrics of ‘Partition’, taken from Beyoncé’s last self-titled album, which include the lines: “Now my mascara running, red lipstick smudged/ Oh he so horny, he want to fuck/ He popped all my buttons, and he ripped my blouse/ He Monica Lewinski’d all on my gown“.

Former White House intern Lewinsky quipped: “Thanks, Beyoncé, but if we’re verbing, I think you meant ‘Bill Clinton’d all on my gown,’ not ‘Monica Lewinsky’d.'”

Last month, Beyonce and her husband Jay Z announced details of a joint tour to take place in the US this summer. The ‘On The Run’ tour will take in 16 dates through June, July and August and starts in Miami at the Sun Life Stadium on June 25. The tour will then continue through the USA and Canada, stopping at Beyoncé’s home town of Houston, Texas on July 18. The final date on the tour will come on August 5 at San Francisco’s AT&T Park.

Beyoncé, meanwhile, recently featured on Time magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world for 2014.

The annual list sees the three musicians line up alongside figures from the worlds of politics, technology, sport, fashion and religion. Beyoncé is one of just three musicians on the list, featuring alongside Miley Cyrus and Pharrell Williams.
