Beyoncé plays five new songs as UK leg of Mrs Carter tour begins in Glasgow

US singer performed a handful of new tracks at SSE Hydro Arena gig

Beyoncé played five songs from her new album as she brought the Mrs Carter Show to the UK with a gig in Glasgow last night (February 20).

The singer performed at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro Arena as part of a tour which will take in shows in Birmingham and Manchester, before four nights at London’s O2 Arena later this month and in the beginning of March.

As well as a host of older material such as ‘Crazy In Love’, ‘Single Ladies’ and ‘Halo’, Beyoncé also performed tracks from her 2013 album ‘Beyoncé’, which was released as a surprise to fans in December. From that album the Glasgow audience were treated to ‘XO’ and ‘Drunk In Love’ as well as ‘Flawless’, ‘Heaven’ and set opener ‘Haunted’. Scroll down for a full setlist.

Earlier this week Beyoncé performed ‘XO’ at the Brit Awards at London’s O2 Arena. Other artists who appeared at the Brit Awards 2014 included Pharrell, Arctic Monkeys, Katy Perry, Ellie Goulding, Bruno Mars, Bastille and Rudimental as well as Disclosure, who played with Lorde. Prince was also in attendance, presenting the award for Best Female.
