Beyoncé’s representative denies ‘absurd’ rumours of affair with Barack Obama

The claim was made by a French paparazzo

Beyonce has been forced to deny rumours that she has been having an affair with US President Barack Obama.

A spokesperson for the singer has dubbed claims made by a French paparazzo that the two are romantically involved “absurd”, reports Metro.

Pascal Rostain made the allegation on the Europe 1 radio station, saying: “There is something big that is happening… it’ll go out tomorrow in the Washington Post.” Adding that Beyoncé and Obama were conducting a secret affair, he said: “I can assure you the world will be talking about it.”

A spokeswoman for the Washington Post, Kris Coratti, also denied the claims, saying that the singer and president were just friends, as they have been for a number of years. “It’s kind of crazy how fast these rumours spread,” she stated.

Metro adds that Rostain is now saying that his claims were a joke.

Beyoncé and Barack Obama have been friends for a number of years. In 2012, Obama spoke about his friendship with Beyoncé and her husband Jay Z, commenting: “I’ve gotten to know these guys over the first several years. They’re good people. Beyoncé could not be sweeter to Michelle and the girls. So they’re good friends. We talk about the same things I talk about with all my friends.”
