Michelle Obama, Lady Gaga to salute Beyonce at Billboard Music Awards

Stevie Wonder, Bono and Barbra Streisand will also salute ex-Destiny's Child singer tonight (May 22)

American First Lady Michelle Obama is set to pay tribute to Beyonce at the Billboard Music Awards tonight (May 22).

The former Destiny’s Child singer is due to pick up the Billboard Millennium Award at the ceremony, which is taking place at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.

An all-star tribute has been planned for the ‘Crazy In Love’ singer, from the likes of U2‘s Bono, Stevie Wonder and Barbra Streisand.

Organisers Billboard said the award is being presented in recognition of Beyonce‘s career achievements and influence on the music industry.

The singer is due to release her new album ‘4’ on June 28, with 72 tracks thought to be in contention for inclusion.

Meanwhile, the Billboard Music Awards is also due to feature performances from Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna, Lil Wayne and Cee Lo Green.

Mary J. Blige, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift and Neil Diamond are also due to take to the stage.
