Beyonce to appear in film directed by ‘Glee’ creator

'One Hit Wonders' will also star Cameron Diaz, Gwyneth Paltrow and Reese Witherspoon

Beyonce has signed up to star in One Hit Wonders, a new film from Glee creator Ryan Murphy.

The musical movie, which also stars Cameron Diaz, Gwyneth Paltrow and Reese Witherspoon, sees the Hollywood actresses play singers who were once popular in the 1990s but have now decided to stage a comeback by forming a supergroup, reports BBC Newsbeat.

Apparently the script has not yet been written, but Beyonce‘s role has already been created. Murphy will write the script with Glee men Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. The film will be partly produced by Paltrow and US comedian and The Lonely Island star Andy Samberg will write the songs.

Last month it was revealed that Beyonce is working on two new albums, according to one of her co-writers, Ryan Tedder. Tedder told MTV that the pair had already started conversations about the follow-ups to her last studio album, ‘4’, which was released in June last year.

Tedder, who is also the frontman for OneRepublic, said: “The conversations about her next album literally just started and there [are] two projects happening. All I can say is you kind of feed her the best that you have and she’s this phenomenal filter and she takes it all in.”
