Beyonce has cancelled her first show for a month in order to rest her month.
Beyonce was due to play at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium tomorrow (September 7), but has been told by her doctor to rest her voice.
The show was due to have been Beyonce’s first full concert performance since she played at Barcelona’s Olympic Lluis Companys stadium on August 3.
She has since played at the VMA Awards, and attended Made In America festival in Philadelphia on Sunday to celebrate her 35th birthday. Chance The Rapper led fans in a singalong of ‘Happy Birthday’, while Coldplay singer Chris Martin also wished her happy birthday from the stage, joking “You’d never think she’s 107-years-old”.
The MetLife Stadium show will now take place exactly a month after its original scheduled date, on October 7. The ‘Formation’ tour is now due to resume on Saturday (September 10) at St Louis’ America’s Center Dome.
There are nine dates remaining on the ‘Formation’ tour, with the MetLife Stadium show now due to be the final concert. The tour began on April 27 at Miami’s Marlins Park and included seven British and Irish shows in summer in Sunderland, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin.
The New Jersey show is the first of the tour which Beyonce has cancelled.
