Beyonce’s dad “couldn’t stop laughing” after Solange’s elevator fight with Jay-Z

"If you know Solange, that's Solange"

Beyonce‘s dad has opened up on Solange‘s infamous elevator fight with Jay-Z, and it turns out that he was tickled pink by the whole debacle.

In 2014, now-infamous footage showed Solange repeatedly lashing out at the ‘4:44’ rapper in a hotel elevator after the star-studded New York Met Gala.

But while the feud immediately prompted worldwide speculation about what exactly had sparked it, it seems that Matthew was altogether less worried.

“I laughed so hard because if you know Solange, that’s Solange”, he recently told the Wendy Williams show.

“You just never know what you’re gonna get – a firecracker. I don’t know where she gets that from!”

He added: “Then Beyoncé would be in the corner, quiet, just kinda, like ‘When y’all finish, let me know.’ So I laughed”.

Earlier this year, he also admitted that the incident had provided an “opportunity to grow”.

“I hope and I feel very calm about this and comfortable that both Solange and Beyoncé were given the tools that they need to be successful”, he told Good Morning Britain.
“Are they going to make mistakes? Absolutely. But mistakes are an opportunity to grow, not a reason to quit. And so I feel comfortable about that.”
