Biffy Clyro win Best Video prize at Shockwaves NME Awards

'The Captain' voted best promo ahead of Arctic Monkeys, Oasis

Biffy Clyro have won the Best Video (sponsored by NME TV) award at the Shockwaves NME Awards tonight (February 24) for their promo for single ‘The Captain’.

The award was presented at the O2 Academy Brixton in London by We Are ScientistsKeith Murray and Chris Cain.

As the band walked to the stage to collect their award, Marina And The Diamonds, whose singer Marina Diamandis collaborated with them on stage earlier, tapped them on the arm in congratulations and cheered them as they went past.

“Wow, this is a nice surprise,” said frontman Simon Neil, before introducing the man who shot the video.

“Keep on dreaming, boy, because when you stop it’s time to die,” quoted Neil before leaving the stage, adding: “See you on the other side.”

Arctic Monkeys were also nominated (for ‘Cornerstone’), as were Kasabian (for ‘Fire’), The Maccabees (for ‘Can You Give It’) and Oasis (for ‘Falling Down’).
