Rihanna dominates UK single and album charts

She holds off Biffy Clyro in album countdown

Rihanna has become the latest star to score a UK chart double (June 10) seeing her single and album hit the top of both the national countdowns on the same week.

For a fourth week, single ‘Umbrella’ is on top while her third album ‘Good Girl Gone Bad has entered straight at number one on the album chart. Crossover rock heroes Biffy Clyro have seen their fourth album, ‘Puzzle’, enter the chart at number two, one place ahead of The Twang‘s ‘Love It When I Feel Like This’.

Also on the single chart, there is some movement on the top 10, most significantly from Enrique Englesias who climbs from 28 to nine with ‘Do You Know’. Calvin Harris climbs to three from last week’s number nine.

The highest new entry on the chart comes from this week’s NME cover stars The White Stripes. They move in at 13 with ‘Icky Thump’.

Back to the albums, Paul McCartney‘s ‘Memory Almost Full’ enters at number five.

1. Rihanna ft Jay-Z – ‘Umbrella’
