Biffy Clyro will headline Reading and Leeds Festivals on August 23 and August 25, and prior to that will release their first iBook. BiffyClyro: 2013 Opposites Tour will be available via iTunes on August 20, and features live and behind the scenes photos of the band on their current world tour. It includes an intro written by the band, as well as live videos for ‘Different People’ and ‘Black Chandelier’ and handwritten lyrics for the whole of the ‘Opposites’ album.

Simon Neil recently said that he would not rule out writing a protest song. Speaking to NME at the agit8 concert held outside London’s Tate Modern, which took place at the same time as the G8 summit in Belfast, Neil commented: “I don’t know if I’m quite eloquent enough but I wouldn’t rule it out. The songs I write have been mostly personal for years, but as everyone gets older you become more aware and more caring about the outside world and perhaps less inward looking. I think it takes an incredible talent – because music is entertainment, it shouldn’t be a lecture.”

Biffy Clyro covered Rage Against The Machine‘s ‘Killing In The Name’ during their surprise show at London’s Tate Modern gallery last month.
