Biffy Clyro are currently outselling the rest of the Top 5 combined in the Official UK Albums Chart

The Kilmarnock trio released their latest album 'Ellipsis' on Friday (July 8)

Biffy Clyro are currently outselling the rest of the Top 5 albums combined in the Official UK Albums Chart, according to a midweek chart update.

The Kilmarnock trio released their latest album ‘Ellipsis’ on Friday (July 8) and are on course to score their second Number One record.

According to the Official Charts Company, the band’s closest competitor is Adele. Her album ’25’ is currently at Number Two in the midweeks.

The rest of the Top 5 is made up by ELO with ‘All Over The World’ (five), Coldplay‘s ‘A Head Full Of Dreams’ (four) and Rick Astley‘s ’50’ (three).

Meanwhile, in the Official UK Singles Chart, Drake
is battling to stay on top with his track ‘One Dance’. Kungs vs Cookin’ On 3 Burners‘ ‘This Girl’ is only 2,000 combined sales behind him at Number Two.

If Drake tops the chart again this weekend, it’ll be his 14th week at Number One in a row. That will see him four weeks closer to breaking Frankie Laine‘s record of 18 weeks. Laine achieved the record in 1953 with his song ‘I Believe’.

Drake also has his song ‘Too Good’, which features Rihanna, in the Top 5 at Number Four. His guest also features on the record at Number Five, Calvin Harris‘ ‘This Is What You Came For’.
