Big Shaq is a creation by British comedian Michael Dapaah, taken from his online comedy series ‘Somewhere In London’. After a hugely successful appearance on Fire in the Booth, where Dapaah, as Big Shaq, freestyled “The girl told me, ‘Take off your jacket’ / I said, ‘Babes, man’s not hot’” the viral trend was born.

Dapaah released a Christmas version of the track in December, adding the distinctive sound of sleigh bells to create the unlikeliest addition to any festive playlist.

Last month, Noel Gallagher also invited the artist to join him on the road after Gallagher’s children introduced him to the viral track.

“I came back from New York the other day and I was in the kitchen with my two lads who, as you know, are ten and seven,” said Gallagher. “I told one of them to take his hoodie off while he’s having his lunch. He said – and I’d never heard it before – he said, ‘Mans not hot’.

“I was like, what? And he went, ‘Mans not hot’. And I went, ‘Who’s not hot?’. And he went ‘Man’.”

“That’s my guy there. My brother Noel,” Shaq told Radio X in response.

Quizzed on if he would play shows with Noel, Shaq said: “Yeah I think it will be special for the people, you know. We gotta give them something eplectical and electical and electrical”.
