“Big yeehaw!”: Watch Paramore’s Hayley Williams join Kacey Musgraves on stage in Nashville

Name us a better duo

Kacey Musgraves was joined by Paramore‘s Hayley Williams on stage in Nashville last night (February 27).

As the ‘Golden Hour’ singer performed at the Ryman Auditorium, she surprised fans by introducing Williams for a cover of Cyndi Lauper’s ‘Girls Just Want To Have Fun’.

Footage posted on Twitter shows Musgraves singing the seminal ’80s hit before Williams enters from the back of the stage mid-way through the performance.

Responding on Twitter, Paramore wrote: “Big yeehaw to our friend @KaceyMusgraves for a killer show in Nashville last night. And a special (pantsless) guest @yelyahwilliams.”

One fan jokingly replied: “give us HD footage of the performance or we’ll sue.”

The inspired performance comes after Musgraves triumphed at the Grammys earlier this month, where she took home four awards for Album Of The Year, Best Country Solo Performance, Best Country Song and Best Country Album.

Earlier this week, Musgraves also lived up to the name of breakout hit ‘High Horse’ by performing on an actual, yes, horse.

Naming ‘High Horse’ as one of the best songs of 2018, NME wrote: “One of the early singles released from Kacey Musgraves’ critically acclaimed ‘Golden Hour’, ‘High Horse’ fused two genres often seen at opposing poles – country and disco – to create one of the most infectious pop songs of 2018.”
